The San Carlos Tribal Council, under the authority of the Tribal Constitution, Article V, Section 1, (f), opens all recreational areas to the public. Monsoon moisture over the past few weeks has reduced the risk of fire danger. High humidity has increased moisture of dead fuels, rainfall has been spotty, however, Level 2 Fire Restrictions are still in effect. Today, the San Carlos Apache Tribe (“Tribe”) announced the presence of the COVID-19 Delta Variant among the members of the neighboring White Mountain Apache Tribe. Tribal Council Recinds Mask Mandate

Tribal Council approved the recommendation from the TERC committee to rescind the mask mandate for the general public but recommends that unvaccinated individuals continue to wear a mask. Tribe To Receive First Federal ARPA Payment

The San Carlos Apache Tribe announces that it had received notice on Friday May 28, 2021 from the U.S. Department of Treasury that it had calculated and processed the Tribe’s allocation for the first phase payment to be made from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The allocation totals $79,720,217.40. Chairman Rambler attended the Izee Baa Gowah strategic capital planning meeting on Friday May 21, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Tribe to receive American Rescue Plan Funds

On May 10, 2021, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced the launch of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act.  The initiative provides $350 billion in emergency funding for eligible State, Tribal and local governments to help turn the tide on the COVID-19 pandemic, address the economic fallout, and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery.
