Tribe To Receive First Federal ARPA Payment

The San Carlos Apache Tribe announces that it had received notice on Friday May 28, 2021 from the U.S. Department of Treasury that it had calculated and processed the Tribe’s allocation for the first phase payment to be made from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The allocation totals $79,720,217.40. Izee Baa Gowah Strategic Capital Planning Meeting

Chairman Rambler attended the Izee Baa Gowah strategic capital planning meeting on Friday May 21, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Izee Baa Gowah Board of Directors and management presented a four-year capital spending plan in the amount of $160 million dollars to maintain and expand health care services to the San Carlos Apaches. On May 10, 2021, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced the launch of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act.  The initiative provides $350 billion in emergency funding for eligible State, Tribal and local governments to help turn the tide on the COVID-19 pandemic, address the economic fallout, and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery. Sports Complex to Start with Construction of Skate Park

In early March of 2019, Chairman Terry Rambler held the first Skate Park Project Committee meeting.  This meeting was the start of a community effort for a better and healthier community for the San Carlos Apaches.  At the beginning, this project focused on the local skateboarders in our community.  Having a new skate park would push the youth to get involved in this growing community and as well highlight the local skateboarders.  The Committee chose the BIA Building #86 (the former police, jail and court facility) location for the new Skate Park.
