2021-04-26T14:33:52+00:00

In early March of 2019, Chairman Terry Rambler held the first Skate Park Project Committee meeting.  This meeting was the start of a community effort for a better and healthier community for the San Carlos Apaches.  At the beginning, this project focused on the local skateboarders in our community.  Having a new skate park would push the youth to get involved in this growing community and as well highlight the local skateboarders.  The Committee chose the BIA Building #86 (the former police, jail and court facility) location for the new Skate Park. Chairman Rambler shed light on one of the reasons [...]

After years of diligent effort, the 2021 Gaming Compact Amendment is moving forward with the San Carlos Apache Tribe’s support. The Tribe established a Gaming Negotiations Team led by Chairman Terry Rambler, Vice Chairman Tao Etpison, Attorneys Steve Titla and Alex Ritchie, Gaming Enterprise CEO Matt Olin, and Gaming Enterprise Board Chairman Myron Moses. Ducey cheerfully signed the documents, surrounded by dozens of tribal and sports franchise representatives, state lawmakers, lobbyists, lawyers and others who worked on the deal. Congress can protect sacred Oak Flat in Arizona from mining project

2021-04-13T16:14:50+00:00

Congress now has the opportunity to correct a travesty that occurred in 2014 when a last-minute, nongermane provision was inserted, without debate, into the annual National Defense Authorization Act that threatens to destroy a Native American religious site in Arizona by passing the Save Oak Flat Act. The current legislation, introduced by House Natural Resources Chairman Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) would repeal Section 3003 of the NDAA for fiscal year 2015 that authorized the Southeastern Arizona Land Exchange between foreign-owned Resolution Copper Company and the Tonto National Forest. Among the 2,422 acres of public land that would be transferred to Resolution is Chí’chil Biłdagoteel, which is also known [...]
