Tribe To Receive First Federal ARPA Payment

The San Carlos Apache Tribe announces that it had received notice on Friday May 28, 2021 from the U.S. Department of Treasury that it had calculated and processed the Tribe’s allocation for the first phase payment to be made from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The allocation totals $79,720,217.40. Published May 27, 2021 by Shondiin Silversmith, Arizona Republic: Along the walkway near the entrance of the San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation in Peridot, stood several small beige-colored buildings. Tribe to receive American Rescue Plan Funds

On May 10, 2021, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced the launch of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act.  The initiative provides $350 billion in emergency funding for eligible State, Tribal and local governments to help turn the tide on the COVID-19 pandemic, address the economic fallout, and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery.
